Manchester Community Central Funding Portal is our FREE funding search engine using information from IDOX Information Solutions that can help voluntary, charitable and community groups like yours to find suitable funding.

The funding portal has recently been upgraded and for those who currently use the funding search engine you may notice a few subtle changes with its appearance and conducting searches.

Community Buildings and Housing - Grants and Support

There are two types of grants available for Community Buildings and Housing:
• Community Buildings Pre-Feasibility Grant
• Community Buildings Project Grant

Community Buildings Pre-Feasibility Grant
Amount of grant available: Between £1,000 and £10,000

This grant will help you assess the feasibility of a community buildings project prior to submitting a Community Right to Build Order or (in the case of community-led housing projects only), a traditional planning application.

Fund to empower women to tackle abuse

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has launched the Women’s Empowerment Fund. The Fund is £250k in total and voluntary and community groups whose primary objective is to work with women in the community are invited to apply for funding for local community engagement projects that empower women.

Therapy Group for Gay and Bisexual Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) in Greater Manchester

Survivors Manchester and The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) are launching a new therapy group for adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse, who also identify as gay, bisexual or questioning. Applications are also welcomed from trans* men, who identify as gay, bisexual or questioning.

Football team wanted by Manchester Oxfam group

A football team of 11 players committed to losing a match against a single player is wanted by Oxfam, despite your skills! Reason: your legs will be tied together with scarves.

The match will be used to make a short film to illustrate inequality, and how the huge majority of poor people in the UK and the world are disadvantaged in life by taxes, prices, low pay, for example, while the very few wealthy people get richer because of the power they wield.

Community Clear Up, 20 and 21 March 2015 - Get your free clear up kit

Saturday 21 March is the start of spring, and it's also National Community Clear Up Day. Join in with thousands of others across Manchester and the rest of the country and get together, roll up your sleeves and spring clean your neighbourhood.

If you and your neighbours, friends, family, communities or colleagues want to take part Manchester City Council can help by giving you a Clear Up Kit with litter picking tools and equipment to get you started. Your clear up day can take place on Friday 20 March or Saturday 21 March.

GMP and MCC advice for residents on the English Defence League Demonstration – 7 March 2015

The English Defence League (EDL) is an organisation which focuses on opposition to what it considers to be a spread of Islamism and Sharia in the United Kingdom. It has held a number of protests across the country and has faced confrontations with various groups, including Unite Against Fascism (UAF) and the police. Previously there has been considerable disorder at other demonstration sites.

Access to opportunities is launching a new course in March 2015

The course is aimed at helping young people recognise their talents and capabilities, and overcome any barriers that could be preventing them from accessing the job market. Although A2O aims to improve the prospects for young people finding sustained employment in a career of their choice, they also recognise suitability to alternative career paths, and self-employment.

The course is open to all 19-25 year olds, who are currently not in education, employment or training. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
