To mark Black History Month 2024, the MBMEN would be delighted if you could join them for a special screening of a new film Ireke by Peter Macjob. Peter is an Emmy nominated journalist and filmmaker who works with the BBC World Service and has made some incredible TV and radio documentaries and podcasts.
The film is a re-enactment of fearless resistance to enslavement by the Maroon warriors of African descent.
MBMEN are really pleased that Peter will be attending and following the screening, there will be time for a Q+A session and some networking.

Racism in the capital is widespread and persistent causing damage to individuals, communities and society as a whole. Its impacts are experienced in different ways and to varying levels of intensity related to individual experiences, socioeconomic position and other dimensions of exclusion such as disability, age and gender. The intersections with other dimensions of exclusion can amplify the effects of racism.
