Manchester International Festival – Get Started courses

Get Started is a series of week-long courses designed to introduce young people to the creative industries, gain confidence and learn new skills. Delivered by Manchester International Festival and The Factory Academy in partnership with the Prince's Trust, the courses are open to anyone in Greater Manchester aged 16-25 who are not currently in education, employment or training.

Free introductory digital service design course

The five-week course from CAST is delivered across three 1.5 hour sessions and 10-14 hours of self-study while working on your own project. The course teaches a step-by-step method for user centred digital design, helping participants tackle genuine organisational challenges.

Santander Foundation Financial and Digital Empowerment Fund

santander foundationThe Santander Foundation Financial and Digital Empowerment Fund is focused on helping people in the UK to become digitally and financially empowered.

The Santander Foundation want to give people the tools, knowledge and confidence to make better decisions about money and will award £1.8 million over three years to 12 UK charities or Community Interest Companies to have a greater impact in communities.

Free Traineeship Programme for 19-24 year olds

community revivalCommunity Revival is offering a traineeship programme. The programme is for anyone who is 19 to 24 years old to start the programme as soon as possible. English and Maths are part of the functional skills.

ESOL (135hours), or English (55hours), and Maths (55 hours) entry three or above.

Pathways Digital Inclusion Course

breakthrough ukThis is a new course from Breakthrough UK to support disabled people to become digitally included, which begins on 1 July in Wythenshawe. Those who complete the 8 week course will receive a free Chromebook.

The course is for Manchester residents, aged 18 or over who identify as disabled and are digitally excluded.
