Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) exists because of the support of likeminded individuals and organisations across Greater Manchester, and beyond, who share their desire to see an end gm poverty actionto poverty in our city region.

The latest newsletter includes a call for content for their Cost-of-Living Crisis Conference in October. GMPA are keen to hear from those who are running projects that help to address the current newsletterfinancial challenges facing low income households. GMPA have provided policy and research updates and there is also an interesting job opportunity.

Contribute to the evaluation of the Changing Futures programme

Greater Manchester is part of the Changing Futures programme. This is a £64 million initiative between Government and The National Lottery Community Fund, testing innovative approaches to surveyimproving outcomes for people experiencing multiple disadvantage in fifteen areas across England. The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has commissioned a consortium led by CFE Research to evaluate the Changing Futures programme.

Co-design of GM Community Wealth Hub – your chance to comment

In early June, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) hosted a co-design workshop for the proposed Greater Manchester Community Wealth Hub. Over 70 people came along and have your sayjoined in discussion about the potential purpose, functions, operating model and impacts that the Hub might have.

Ubele Circles with Dennis Carney

Calling all activists or people interested in learning about activism from Black or Minoritised Communities. Circles run for 4 weekly sessions. Participants are required to commit to meeting weekly on the ubele initiative17 August, 24 August, 31 August, 7 September between 6pm-7pm, online. Deadline to apply: 15 August

GM Poverty Action Newsletter 13 July 2022

The latest newsletter opens with a request to you to take five minutes to complete GMPA’s Annual Impact Survey. The findings will help inform their work and support GMPA when making a case to newsletterfunders and other stakeholders, deadline: 29 July. The newsletter reports on Greater Manchester’s excellent successes at the Living Wage Champions Awards, there is a page of policy updates and a new tool from Citizens Advice.
