The training can be adapted to ensure that practitioners:
  • Understand how neurodiversity may impact a individual's learning, behaviour, and engagement with professionals.
  • Reflect this understanding in their assessments and care planning.
  • Are aware of complicating factors (e.g., co-occurring conditions, sensory needs, anxiety) when action planning for adults and children with neurodevelopmental health conditions.

What participates liked and valued about this training:

  • ‘The session was highly interactive, with opportunities to ask questions and share experiences, which made the learning practical and relevant. Handouts and tools shared during the training will be useful for ongoing reference and for supporting families effectively.’
  • ‘It provided me with a better understanding of the needs of different people and different neurodiversity. It also highlighted my practice of treating everyone as an individual and not a diagnosis’
  • ‘I will share practical strategies such as using visual schedules at home, breaking tasks into smaller steps, and creating calm spaces to help people manage daily routines and reduce stress.’
