ALL FM Community Radio are again working with young people 13-17 over the summer to produce radio broadcasts and/or podcasts. ALL FM can bring their kit and work with groups at your place or invite you to their accessible studios in Levenshulme.
The Blended Employment Club is a free employment programme. You can attend virtual coffee mornings and talk to professionals from many industries. Learn and develop new skills with support from an employment coach and gain national accreditations in areas that interest you.
Youth Elements are running two resilience workshops over the August holidays. Youth Elements are looking to partner with organisations across Greater Manchester, to deliver these workshop. The Youth Elements Team will come to the young people and visit a space of comfort, safety, and ownership. The sessions are provided free to young people. Young people will be awarded certificates for taking part in the session.
RECLAIM know things are tough right now for young people, especially if you're trying to find a job. The pandemic has reduced not only the number of jobs, but the chance to make new connections. To help, RECLAIM have partnered with UpRising and One Million Mentors to offer a package of free support to help you stand out.
This year the University of Manchester are looking for a number of suitable roles in which to place postgraduates who can undertake a variety of tasks and activities as part of their course. These placements can run from November 2021 to May 2022 and should comprise a minimum of 15 days work.
Local Artists from Manchester’s pioneering mental health charity TLC-St Luke’s gathered in Swinton Grove Park to launch The Memory Book, a collection of the work they produced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) are currently collating a directory of all mental health peer support groups in Greater Manchester, with the hope it makes it clearer for potential service users to find out what is out there that may benefit them, and how to access these services, and so that they can signpost service users.
Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) are currently running their Annual Impact Survey.
GMPA run their annual survey to find out more about how the people in their network perceive their work, what they value and the different ways in which GMPA has an impact. The findings will help inform GMPA’s work and support them when making a case to funders and other stakeholders.
This prize draw will support 422, a community project in Manchester. 422 has a long history of being a space where people come together. Once a library, youth centre, and now after years of standing empty, the plan is for 422 to become a Community Hub in an area that experiences some of the highest levels of deprivation in the UK.
We still believe that there is a need to link businesses with local voluntary and community groups and the benefits can and often are significant and mutual.
