Information Pack for GM Adult MH Service User Network

Last July was the launch of the Greater Manchester Adult Mental Health Service User Network: https://gmecscn.nhs.uk/index.php/news/664-new-network-promises-mental-health-improvements

A Steering Group of service user and carers was formed and has been working behind the scenes and meeting regularly to agree a governance structure of a Chair and Vice Chair with 1 representative from each of the 10 boroughs which is known as the CORE group of members.

24 cycle cages available for donation to voluntary organisations

As part of the refurbishment of Manchester Town Hall Manchester City Council have 24 used cycle cages that are due to be disposed of that they would like to donate to a school or voluntary organisation in Manchester.

Dimensions are approximately w64cm x d145cm x h192cm and cages can be bolted to the floor. Bicycles can be locked inside with a D Lock and the door can be padlocked. Condition is good with only cosmetic damage.

SoW - North Manchester Black Health Forum


North Manchester Black Health Forum held an event for 40 socially isolated older people from Black African Caribbean communities, who were living with long-term health conditions. The event was an evening of music, dance and refreshments, helping to bring older neighbours together to share wellness. Volunteers at the event facilitated and captured conversations about different things that can help to lift people’s moods and to help them feel happy and calm. 

SoW - The Proud Trust


The Proud Trust held collaborative music workshops for LGBT+ young people to take part in. The workshops were facilitated by a young volunteer and a local musician supported by youth work staff. The workshops were a safe and welcoming environment for young people to express themselves creatively, enabling them to develop skills in song writing and playing instruments, in order to build a sense of belonging with their peers and to reduce isolation and loneliness.

Alexandra House – surplus furniture

Manchester City Council (MCC) are in the process of decommissioning Alexandra House in Hulme. In accordance with the agreed MCC furniture retention and disposal policy MCC have identified some items of furniture which may be available to third sector groups and schools. The furniture is generally office chairs, desks, meeting chairs and tables all in used but good condition. Manchester City Council
