UK tour for play about lives of hidden young carers

A play about young carers in Salford that “knocked MPs sideways” is about to embark on a national tour in June 2019. Who Cares

The show, Who Cares, was written by Matt Woodhead and co-produced by The Lowry and LUNG. It was made in partnership with Greater Manchester Charity, Gaddum and its Salford Carers Service and is funded by Arts Council England and the Oglesby Charitable Trust.

SoW - Now-Forever Heritage

Words are Wands - Writing for Wellbeing was an inspirational, awareness raising event held at the Forum Library, Wythenshawe. It featured the work of people who have used the power of the written and spoke word to address mentioal health issues and challenge stigma and stereotyping. They ran a workshop first to promote hte benefits of journalling, mindfulness and meditation. 12 people then performed their short pieces which were all entitled Words are Wands. The literature was then displayed at the library. 

SoW - TLG

TLG hosted a Christmas lunch followed by an awards ceremony for young people and families on Wednesday 12th December. They work with 11-14 year old boys who are at serious risk of permanent exclusion. Most of their families live in poverty and are involved with social services. Mental health issues, substance abuse and crime are common denominators in the lives of the young people.
