Joy Ethic are running free wellbeing themed walk and talks which start in January 2023.
Fridays 12pm-1.30 pm at Chorlton Water Park – There will be shorter walks (between 25 and 40 minutes, (depending on individuals' needs) on Fridays at Chorlton Water park. Each session will begin in the White House with a short introduction and then after the walk, conclude in the same building with a review, chat and free brew and snack offer.
Greater Manchester Environment Fund (GMEF) have been managing the Green Spaces Fund since its launch in June 2022. Round 1 applications proved that the Green Spaces Fund is in demand, and GMEF selected 21 excellent projects out of 71 applications received. GMEF’s work promoting Round 2 is already indicating that they are likely to receive 200 applications and they have doubled the funding available.
GM’s Living Well at Home programme includes a Quality Strategy, which strives for high quality, outcome-focussed and person centred care and support, which is based on people’s strengths.
The framework will define what the programme considers ‘great’ to look like, provide a tool to identify areas of best practice from which continuous improvement across GM can be driven.
Macc attended the Health Scrutiny Committee meeting on 7 December. This meeting focused on three main reports; Gambling Related Harms (Public Health), Adult Learning Disability Services (Adult Social Services), and Climate Change-Impact of the recent heatwave (Public Health).
The fund is opening on 4 January 2023 and will be provide grants of £2,000 - £3,000 to non-profit groups led by Black people and people of colour with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress or trauma, to take action on mental health and racial justice across England. The funding is to support collective care, campaigning and capacity building activities.
In response to rising demand as a result of Strep A infections, NHS England ran a webinar to share information with the VCSE. They are keen to engage communities and community organisations to share accurate information about the risks, and about when and how to seek medical help.
