As COVID-19 continues to sweep across the UK, more and more people are driven to help the most vulnerable in our communities. Church groups, neighbourhood and residents associations are being set up to support the work of existing community groups, services and charities.

Age Friendly Manchester have complied a list of some local groups with details on what they are offering:
Constituted groups and organisations can apply to this fund for £500 - £3000 for the items, equipment or supplies they need to support their communities in this difficult time. The We love MCR charity have simplified the process to apply and are able to get the money out to groups quickly.
60 micro commissions worth £500 each will be given to artists and creators, based in Greater Manchester, across all artforms (music, art, poetry, theatre, short stories, design, gaming, stories, etc.
Work created will form a permanent archive of Greater Manchester’s creative response to Covid-19.

Barlow Moor Community Association have put a comprehensive package of remote support in place which will develop over time, initially they can offer:
Northmoor Community Association’s Next Step Project is still helping people with Universal Credit and Emergencies on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 9.30am-12.30pm.
Only one person will be allowed in the Community Centre at a time and help will be given in reception through a window. If you need support contact 0161 248 6823.
The Community Centre and its services remain closed except for this support.
The Booth Centre, a day service that supports people that are homeless in Manchester remains open during the outbreak of COVID-19 to ensure that people that are homeless can get into accommodation. As other services in the city are having to close, the Booth Centre has worked tirelessly to adapt and remain open, by moving everything to operate from their garden.
