Winning Hearts and Minds is a programme which aims to improve the mental and heart health of people living in Manchester. Winning Hearts and Minds have just released their latest report – ‘Be 
Brave: Building Community Led Initiatives in North Manchester’ – documenting their learning over 2019-2021.
Manchester Volunteer Advice Partnership (MVAP) run 9-week training courses (sessions every Tuesday) teaching you how to give good quality advice on welfare benefits and housing, as well as 
assertiveness and communication skills. During this training, you will also be placed at either Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) or Cheetham Hill Advice Centre (CHAC) for half a week day to volunteer as an advice worker.

Got a great idea for a community project, but need a little help to get it off the ground? The Onward Community Fund aims to support local groups and projects. Underpinned by the mission ‘To make a positive difference in the communities we serve’ groups can bid for up to £2,500 for their neighbourhood. Examples could include: IT training, youth projects or community events.
To help Ukrainian nationals arriving in Greater Manchester, Metrolink tram services, rail services and the majority of bus and coach services in the region are being provided free of charge.

The Make a Difference awards are a chance to say Thank You and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others.
