Gamble Aware Week 18-23 July, Problematic Gambling Briefing Sessions
As part of Gamble Aware Week (18-23 July), Manchester City Council’s Licensing Unit are hosting two training and briefing sessions which may prove useful for some agencies and members of the wider safeguarding workforce and voluntary sector.

Voting is now open to vote for the Best Community Space Spirit of Manchester Award 2016.
Award criteria
A community space can be a piece of land or a building available for use by the community. Organisations needed to show:
• Best use of a community space
• How the space is seen as central within the community
• The impact it has within the local community
Cancer and Mental Well-being engagement events
Macmillan Cancer Support is currently undertaking a number of engagement events to look at issues relating to mental well-being and cancer. This information will be used to inform the future work of Macmillan’s ‘cancer and mental health taskforce’. The taskforce is looking at what cancer patients and carers say about their emotional experiences, the support they get for these, and any extra support they might appreciate.
Lung Health Check - Focus Group
A new lung health check service is currently being offered through a pilot project to local residents across Manchester who are registered with particular GP practices. Alongside provision of the health check Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking feedback from individuals about this new service.
You are invited to a discussion group if you are:
• Aged 55-74 years old?
• A smoker or an ex-smoker?
• Someone who’s not had lung cancer?
• Registered with a GP in Manchester?
Shape the services provided at your local pharmacy
Manchester City Council wants to make sure local pharmacies provide the services you need, to do this they need to know how people use them. Manchester City Council have divided the survey into question about your ‘local pharmacy’, which could be your local chemist, high street pharmacy, large store chemists or supermarket pharmacies, but not the hospital pharmacy, and your ‘regular pharmacy’ the one you use most of the time.
