A free roadshow for social businesses across the North West will come to Manchester this month, geared towards helping community-driven organisations understand what funding is available to them to help them become more successful.
Manchester City Council has £10,000 to deliver training in Honour Based Violence (HBV) awareness for Early Help Hub staff and Social Work teams. The full funding of £10,000 will be awarded to one successful applicant to provide a training programme for frontline workers. The programme will need to be delivered to all Early Help Hub staff and Social Work teams in venues arranged by the provider. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver the training programme between January 2017 and March 2017.

The full funding of £10,000 will be awarded to one successful applicant to provide an engagement programme for the community. The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) is concerned that the rights of vulnerable and marginalised communities in the UK are being eroded, particularly Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, migrants and refugees. JRCT believes that equality and human rights play a vital role in protecting the most vulnerable and in turn benefit the whole of society.
Climate change caused by human activity is threatening the well-being of humanity. The wealthiest countries and individuals are responsible for a disproportionate share of emissions, whilst the poorest countries and sections of society are the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Similarly, our use of natural resources is unsustainable and unjust. Technological change is essential but not sufficient; fundamental changes to economic models and social norms will also be required, but there is not yet sufficient public or political consensus to make these changes.
Manchester City Council has been awarded £50,000, £25,000 by the Office for the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and £25,000 by the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) for a LGBT focussed IDVA service. The full funding of £50,000 will be awarded to one successful applicant who will need to work with the LGBT community across Greater Manchester.
