This year's Spirit of Manchester Awards has obviously been be a bit different. We wanted it to be a huge celebration and thank you to the response across the city to the COVID-19 crisis. We asked Manchester residents who they wanted to thank and we got a brilliant response.
The Greater Manchester Social Value Network (GMSVN) believes that Social Value should be at the heart of building back a better, fairer and greener Greater Manchester. The purpose of this Manifesto is to identify the means through which this can become reality. The Manifesto is targeted at every organisation in Greater Manchester across the public, commercial and social sectors.
LGBTQ+ Online Festival of Happiness 28 October – 3 November focusing on creativity, resilience and human connection. This is a free online festival for the LGBT communities of Greater Manchester and beyond. It begins with a week of activity and ends with follow-on weekly sessions into 2021.
Join Buzz for their new virtual Better Information Programme training sessions. They’re free to attend and designed for staff from a wide range of health, social care and community organisations. They will be of most benefit to those who have not previously attended their face-to-face Better Information Programme training, but previous attendees are welcome who would like to refresh their knowledge.
The Kickstarter Manchester programme will support residents living in any of the boroughs of Greater Manchester who would like to explore the idea of starting their own business. The 7 day start up challenge launches on 15 October, is fully funded and is run online.

17 October marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. The APLE Collective are documenting the solidarity shown for this monumental day by lighting up the UK map with activities that take place all across the country to commemorate IDEP 2020.
The Digital Futures Fund seeks to procure specialist employability partners to deliver digital skills and industry-focused pre-employment courses for young people across the region.
The GM Youth Employment Fund is designed to pilot and test new approaches which will remove barriers to employment for young people. The Trust are specifically seeking proposals from organisations and consortia who can deliver innovative employability programmes that will help young people aged 16-25 in accessing employment or training.
The Our Manchester Programme Management Team are pleased to announce that First 1000 Days of a Child's Life Fund specifically for North Manchester will be opening for applications on Monday 19 October 2020 for a 4 week period with a closing date of 10am on Monday 16 November.

This year the Community Soups will be a little different. One Manchester will be holding them virtually so that everybody can take part safely.
