GMOPN Membership form - Organisations

The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network (GMOPN) was established in October 2015 following a consultation with older people in Greater Manchester. The development of the GMOPN is supported by the Ambition for Ageing (AfA) programme and facilitated by Macc. The aim of the GMOPN is to inform and influence Greater Manchester strategies that affect older people.

These meet every 2 months to share news on what’s going on and to plan work for the network to focus on throughout the year. NCVO Knowhow - Free Safeguarding resources

Keeping people safe is important. All organisations need to do safeguarding well. Everyone needs to be involved.
Building strong safeguarding practices and a safe culture can be complicated though, especially for those organisations taking their first steps in tackling them.

NCVO Knowhow have published a number of free briefings, guide, tools and practical guides to Safeguarding produced as part of the Safeguarding Training Fund these resources will help you make plans and carry them out.

Homeless link – 2019 Cold Weather Fund

Homeless LinkThe Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are providing up to £1million of the Cold Weather Fund to Homeless link to administer funding to charitable organisations that are not commissioned by local authorities. The project’s overall aim is to financially support local providers in helping people sleeping rough off the streets this winter.

GMHSCPSmoking causes 16 types of cancer and kills 1 in 2. In Greater Manchester, great strides are being taken to encourage, help and support those who want to quit. Over 27,000 fewer people smoked in the city region in 2018 compared to the previous year. We need to keep on doing everything that we can to harmful effects on the health of Greater Manchester residents caused by smoking.
