Investment and Contract Readiness Fund

The £10m three year Investment and Contract Readiness Fund on behalf of the Office for Civil society is now open.

The Fund will support social ventures to build their capacity to be able to receive investment and bid for public service contracts.

The Office for Civil society have put investors at the heart of the process because as providers of investment they both understand what investment ready ventures look like and have a keen business driven interest in helping social ventures with the greatest chances of success secure this support.

Looking back on our big day

A week later and I’ve calmed down a bit now.

I’ve found it rather hard to judge whether our Macc to the Future event last week was a success. People have said great things about it but my memory of the day is one of rushing about: when I wasn’t speaking to an audience I was catching quick conversations with people some of whom I knew and some I didn’t. Still, that's a good sign.

The Transition Alliance have produced a map showing the boundaries of the North West Health and Wellbeing Boards and Clinical Commissioning Groups. This map will be of use to anyone who will be working within the new structure - particularly where this work crosses locality boundaries.

Trafford NHS Consultation

In the final six weeks of the new health deal for Trafford public consultation, the NHS in Trafford is calling on all community, voluntary, religious and special needs groups and organisations, to join in the discussion around the proposed service changes at Trafford General Hospital.

A new community toolkit, containing a DVD and several interactive activities, has been specifically designed for local groups to help them learn about the proposed service changes and encourage them to share their views and opinions on the proposal.

Learning from Zoe; A troubled teenager

The Manchester Safeguarding Children Board has piloted the new Social Case Institute for Excellence methodology focusing on a Manchester young person, who for the purpose of the events has been named 'Zoe'. The pilot has now been concluded and a number of findings recorded. The next step is to share these findings and consult with the Manchester children's workforce to inform an action plan.
