Nesta are calling all cultural and creative organisations, not-for-profit or commercial, to come up with a digital idea that addresses a social challenge and produces a social benefit. Your idea can be local or global, as long as it has a real world benefit. Think hands-on results at street level, not clever comms campaigns.

The Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) are hosting their annual Northern Fundraising Conference for small charities 18 October in Leeds. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from a range of fundraising experts, all keen to share their best practice on the following topics:
You are invited to take part in a short survey of charity leaders for the Weston Charity Awards – which Pilotlight run in partnership with the Garfield Weston Foundation. Your answers will help the organisations to better understand the needs of the sector.
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and all of your responses will be analysed anonymously. As a small incentive, a donor has provided a 32GB Apple IPad, which will be won by one person picked at random from those who choose to enter.
The University of Manchester are investigating the health and well-being benefits of green space in cities for older people. (‘Green space' means trees, parks, woodland, ponds, rivers, canals, allotments, and so on.) 
The research team are looking for people who are 65 or over who might be interested in taking part in a study that surveys reasons for valuing green space.
Women Asylum Seekers Together (WAST) is a diverse organisation that supports and empowers women seeking asylum, although it goes far beyond that. In addition to campaigning and advocating rights for everyone going through the asylum system, they provide a weekly drop in session every Friday from 10am – 3pm.
