Europia Spirit Story - Our responsibility is to ensure the law has been correctly and fairly applied

On Friday 23rd September, a woman with three children, one of whom is disabled, attended a Europia advice session as she had been left in a difficult situation with the DWP when the private solicitor she had hired disappeared. She was left very distressed as she did not understand that she had unintentionally created difficulties for herself as she lacked an understanding of the legal system. Europia were able to explain to her how she came to find herself in her situation.

Mustard Tree Spirit Story - The Trees of Ancoats

Mustard Tree approached the New Islington Free School earlier this year about working on an art project which would brighten up the area surrounding their new building in Ancoats. Graham, Creative Programmes Manager, initially came up with the idea of fusing nature and city life together by creating an art installation called the ‘The Trees of Ancoats’.

Protecting Young People from Violent Crime survey

The Manchester Community Safety Partnership is currently looking at the issue of Youth Violence across the City and how it affects them. The Partnership has consulted with partners and agencies who work alongside and for young people but would like to obtain the views of young people themselves on this important issue. The survey asks about young people’s experiences of violence, their thoughts regarding the causes and their day to day activity.

The Inspiring Change Manchester Innovation Partnership Fund

Inspiring Change Manchester recognise the outstanding work that smaller charities and groups do every day with those with multiple and complex needs across the City of Manchester; working across all areas, all ethnic groups, every demographic and all ages. Inspiring Change Manchester also know that providing workforce development opportunities and training or researching specialist topics is a luxury for many of these groups that often cannot be met from existing, over-stretched funds.

World Food Day - 16 October 2016

In 2015-2016 Manchester South Central Foodbank fed 1516 people, a massive 13644 meals plus extras such as toiletries, nappies and treats. They also provided 50 hampers for local people at Christmas time and fed 60 people on Christmas day in Moss Side, who would otherwise not of had a meal or would of spent Christmas alone.
