Manchester City Council has been asked by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to consult with partners on two funding proposals in relation to domestic violence and abuse core and enhanced support and provide a coordinated response by Friday 28 August.
These are draft proposals and Manchester City Council want to know your views before any decisions are made. Please say what you think and say if you have any different suggestions and if there is anything you feel is missing. The deadline for submissions is Friday 21 August 2015, 4pm.
The Manchester hate crime strategy is due to be updated early next year. Manchester City Council are therefore reviewing the current strategy, and would like your thoughts on the issues and priorities you would like them to focus on for the next three years.
Voluntary Sector North West and Compact Voice are assessing the current state of the sector’s relationship with local public sector partners and LEPs: who’s working well with the sector and who’s not? Where is support required? How is the sector engaged in emerging devolution discussions (e.g. via Combined Authorities and local Devolution deal leads)

Macc and Salford CVS hosted the Making Safer Communities Summit for voluntary sector groups, with guest speaker Tony Lloyd, the GM Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and interim GM Mayor on 18 June 2015 in Central Manchester. The idea for this collaborative approach between Macc and Salford CVS around crime and community safety first arose as a response to the riots of 2011.
The Compact Awards celebrate and showcase outstanding Compact working across England.
Award winners will be chosen from groups, individuals, organisations and activities that demonstrate the very best of cross-sector partnership working.
Our groups and volunteers data has been updated to include data for the first quarter of 2015/16.

An eye-catching, limited edition, printed collection of analysis and ideas on devolution has been launched by The University of Manchester.
On Devo brings together nine of the most essential blogs on devolution so far that have appeared on Manchester Policy Blogs – explaining and questioning its impact on the region’s politics, the economy, health and social care and immigration, as well as examining the role the new mayor will play.
Like many other local voluntary and community groups, Macc is currently faced with a situation where the demand on our services is increasing at a time when key funders have significantly cut our funding whilst also advising that there are more and deeper cuts to come.
