This course is for professionals working with children, families or in safeguarding roles, as it enhances practitioners’ confidence and competence in recognising the signs and indicators of child sexual abuse and responding appropriately.

It offers structured guidance, evidence‑informed tools, and opportunities for reflective practice, supporting professionals to engage in sensitive conversations, examine assumptions and ensure that the child’s wellbeing remains central to all decision‑making.

Completion of this training enables participants to identify concerns and take proportionate and informed action and contribute to safer, more protective environments for children and young people.

Learning Outcomes: 

Increased knowledge and confidence of professionals in noticing signs and indicators of sexual abuse and having reflective conversations regarding the topic.

Increased confidence in talking about sexual abuse to parents, children and professionals.

To be able to challenge our own assumptions and views regarding child sexual abuse to ensure that we remain curious.

Ensuring that the wellbeing of the child remains at the heart of all decision making. 

Increased confidence in safety planning and assessment when sexual abuse has occurred.

Increased knowledge about interventions available to support professionals when supporting families when child sexual abuse has occurred.
