Nine people who attend The Shaw Centre were thrilled to have their book presented to them by The Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr Abid Chohan on Thursday 20 June 2019 at the book launch. Local councillors Shaukat Ali, Shazia Butt and Naeem Hassan joined in the celebrations alongside 60 other people.
In 2020 People’s History Museum (PHM) will launch a year long programme of new exhibitions, events, learning activities and creative collaborations that will explore the theme of migration. 
The DWF Foundation has one purpose: providing funds, resources and support to help local communities achieve their full potential. The DWF Foundation supports registered charities with an impact in one or more of the following areas: Homelessness; Health and Wellbeing; Employability; and Education. 
Greater Manchester’s Our Pass is the new bus pass that gives 16-18-year-olds the freedom to travel, work and learn. The pass provides free bus travel as well as discounts and free deals at certain retailers and sponsors. 
The Summer Reading Challenge is the biggest annual reading promotion for children aged 4 to 11. Last year, children in Manchester read over 38,000 books and we’re ready for even more books to be borrowed from our libraries this year! 
LEAP - The energy and money saving service, is a free service that is helping people keep warm and reduce their energy bills without costing them any money. 
This project covers Manchester and all of Greater Manchester.
It is open to all types of householders – homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants.

We invite voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, including faith groups, to apply for one of ten community safety grants of £5,000.

The 247 People Fund aims to encourage small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage people to get involved as volunteers and who just need a bit of financial help to be able to work with their community in the way they’d like. The Fund welcomes applications from organisations throughout Greater Manchester with an annual income of less than £50,000. 
Sporting Heritage are offering funding specially aimed at engaging community access to sporting heritage collections as part of National Sporting Heritage Day 2019. Funded by the Art Fund, this programme will support increased engagement to local collections which tell the story and stories of sporting activity, heroes, and endeavour.
