How do we make Manchester the best it can be up to 2025? The Manchester Leader Forum have drafted strategy with help from many groups and they would like your views and ideas.

The Manchester Leaders Forum, which has developed the Manchester strategy, will oversee the development of a detailed shorter term plan that will identify actions to support the overall aims. Key organisations and individuals across the city, from the public and voluntary sectors, from businesses and the arts all have a part to play.

Local people, local ideas and local solutions for safe and healthy relationships

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Greater Manchester Police to invest cash of up to £30,000 to promote healthier and safer relationships in Wythenshawe.

The funding set aside can be applied for in sums between £500 and £10,000. The projects chosen to be funded will be delivered for a 1 year period at a centre that is yet to be chosen.

The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) Project Viability Grants (PVG) are to fund short studies to look at potential uses for a building and at its current condition. Successful completion of this initial stage will be used to judge whether applicants can then apply for the AHF’s Project Development Grant funding.

AHF generally expect applicants to cover at least 50% of the cost of the work. i.e. you must normally be able to match our grant offer with your own funds or with funds raised from other sources.

Want to become a volunteer to help adults with their reading?

Manchester Adult Education Service (MAES) are running a six week course aimed at people who want to become volunteers to help adults improve their reading skills. It will provide you with an opportunity to discover how to help others learn to read.

What will be involved?
The course will run for two half days per week for six weeks. One half day will be spent volunteering on a one a one to one basis, working with adults learning to read.
