The Chest is the e-portal for procurement used by Manchester City Council and other councils in Greater Manchester. As councils continue the move from grants to contracts The Chest will become the main focus for communication between the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) and council officers once the tender process begins.

Who can apply?
Applicants are asked to complete an online application. Guidance will be available online, in addition to a range of support events to answer any practical questions applicants have regarding the application form and process.

To be eligible, your organisation must:
• Have a successful track record of working in the city of Manchester and be not for profit
• Beneficiaries of the grant must be residents of the city of Manchester
• Have clear aims of objectives or purpose
• Can demonstrate financial accountability

What we are looking for

  • To increase the capacity and capability of local voluntary and Community sector organisations which are already working to reduce social isolation/loneliness of older people in Manchester
  • Increase the capacity and capability of local and community sector organisations to enable them to extend their reach to working with older people
  • Establishing new models and approaches to reducing social isolation/loneliness of older people based on enabling older people to help themselves

Assist Neighbourhood Care Group - Trustees Required

Assist is a small charity in south Manchester that provides support to older people in the community. Assist has an excellent reputation in south Manchester, have hard working staff / volunteers and a dedicated board of trustees.

Assist are facing a challenging year in terms of future funding and need new dynamic trustees who are willing to get involved to oversee and support the organisation through the current and future challenges.
