A new collaborative campaign to Save our Social Enterprises has been launched. We know that Social enterprises are at the heart of the fight against coronavirus and that they will be vital for the social and economic recovery from this crisis, but too many are falling through the cracks in Government support.

Can't talk writeAction for Children have teamed up with Royal Mail and The Prince’s Trust to launch their Can’t Talk, Write toolkits. These downloadable work books are full of activities to get young people writing.

There are two toolkits: one for young people aged 11-18 years old and one for adults working with young people. Each toolkit includes printable activities and ideas to get young people writing.

Government launches plan to tackle loneliness during coronavirus lockdown

Let's talk lonlinessThe Government has launched a major effort to tackle loneliness and social isolation during the coronavirus outbreak and period of social distancing.

Led by Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden, the plan will aim to ensure that, for people of all ages and backgrounds, staying at home does not need to lead to loneliness.

Cyber Aware Campaign Launches this week

Cyber Resilience CentreThe National Cyber Security Centre has launched their #cyberaware campaign this week as cyber crime surges due to COVID-19. The website provides advice on how to stay secure online.

Businesses can access all the help, advice and information they need to help become cyber resilient and prevent online attacks. Greater Manchester businesses can get 3 month membership at no charge.

GM VCSE Leadership Group Statement

Befriending Phone Line for Polish Over-50s

EuropiaEuropia have set up a befriending phone-line service for Polish people who are over-50 years old. Polish people will be able to ring 0161 826 3177 and have a chat with one of Europia’s Polish staff. This phone-line is for those who just want to talk to someone. Callers can discuss whatever they like. They can ask for advice about welfare or COVID-19, or they can just talk about how they are feeling.
