Protecting Playing Fields

Playing fields are one of the most important resources for sport in England but many of them are waterlogged or in a state of disrepair, so Sport England are investing £28 million of National Lottery funding into improving community sports fields.

The programme is being delivered via eight funding rounds with approximately £4 million being awarded to projects in each round. The first five rounds of funding has benefited 336 projects who have been able to either create new natural turf pitches or improve existing ones that needed leveling or drainage works.

Applications open for ITV’s Text Santa 2014

Do you want to raise awareness of the great work your charity does to help others? Text Santa aims to help someone near you and raises funds every year to do just that.

As well as raising money, the aim is to maximise brand awareness for all of the charities involved. Text Santa provided the charities with 6 hours of airtime through ITV’s existing programming formats and regional news!

United UtilitiesTrust Fund – Money advice grants

Organisations involved in the provision of money advice and financial literacy projects are invited to apply for funding from the United Utilities Trust Fund.

Revenue Project Funding
Funding is available up to £62,500 over 2 years for projects that will advise and support people who need help:
• coping with the implications of Welfare Reform on their personal and household budgets when unable to access help elsewhere
• accessing online welfare benefit entitlements and other web-based facilities to encourage sustainable financial well-being

Eastlands Homes' Community Grant - apply now

Funding is available to support projects and activities operating in east and south-east Manchester. Applications are encouraged from all of Eastlands Homes' areas - Openshaw, Beswick, Clayton, Miles Platting, Ardwick, Levenshulme, Longsight, Rusholme and Gorton - but must benefit the local community in order to be considered.

Eastlands Homes is a not-for-profit organisation set up in 2003 that has grown to around 8,000 properties, largely due to two stock transfers from Manchester City Council.

ESF Community Learning Grants in the North West for 2014-2015

Our Place Programme

£4.3m package of support and grants for neighbourhoods has been made available by the Department for Communities and Local Government to support at least 100 neighbourhoods, with 20 driving proposals which break new ground.

Sport Relief Community Cash 2014

Sport Relief Community Cash is a grant scheme running across Greater Manchester of £100,000 with grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 available to small organisations that are working to help local people living tough lives in the city.

The grants are available to community organisations, registered charities, social enterprises, co-operatives, faith organisations and community interest companies. Groups which have been established for less than 12 months are eligible to apply.
