Hubbub and Starbuck’s Eat it Up Fund

The Eat it Up Fund was created last year with funding provided by Starbucks (using the money coming from Starbucks 5p cup charge) in partnership with Hubbub Foundation UK, an environmental charity.

Now in its second year, the grant fund is offering six grants of £60,000 each to support innovative ideas to tackle food waste in the UK. The grant must be used within a year.

The fund will support UK registered organisations with an early-stage food waste project with potential for impact at scale.

The funding is for initiatives that do one or more of the following:

Cracking Good Food's Free Kitchen Kit Redistribution Event

Mental Health Medications survey for people with Learning Disabilities

The Medications and My Mental Health project is exploring mental health medications in the lives of people with learning disabilities. The aim of the project is to develop a toolkit to support decision-making for adults with learning disabilities in relation to psychotropic and mental health medication prescribing and usage. Group Dynamics in Peer Support Workshop

Do you facilitate peer support groups? Do you have questions about tackling difficult group dynamics? Join Gaddum’s Group Dynamics in Peer Support Workshop. Find and share creative ways to communicate, manage relationships and look after your wellbeing as a peer support facilitator. The workshop will take place over two consecutive Mondays: 10 June and 17 June, 12.30pm -2pm on both days.

GM Walking Festival 2024

The Greater Manchester Walking Festival 2024 takes place 1-31 May. The festival celebrates the joys and many benefits of walking and wheeling – including for people’s health and wellbeing.

The GM Walking Festival 2024 has more than 300 walking and wheeling events throughout the month of May, with 50 walks in Manchester alone.

Wellbeing of Women: Women’s Health Community Fund

Working in partnership with Holland & Barrett, the charity Wellbeing of Women is offering grants of up to £5,000 to small, grassroots organisations and community groups to deliver health information and support to women, girls and people from underrepresented groups in the UK.

The funding is for projects that address the following key points:

Movement for Good Health and wellbeing special draw

To support the incredible work that so many charities do to support health and wellbeing, Movement for Good’s second special draw of the year will award £5,000 to 10 charities working in this area. This nomination window is open for five days, from 22-26 April 2024.

This special draw is open to charities whose core charitable purpose is the advancement of health including disability support, the prevention or relief of sickness or disease and the promotion of health.

Join Gaddum’s free and informative workshop to help manage risks and safety in peer support, and look after your wellbeing as a peer support facilitator.

The risks and safety in peer support workshop takes place over consecutive Fridays on 10 May and 17 May from 12.30pm -2pm on both days. All sessions are online on Zoom.

TripleC Community Group

A group for deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent aged people 25+ for a creative outlet and to make new friends.

TripleC’s weekly creative community project to give an opportunity for the DDN community to come together, create, explore new experiences and meet new friends.

These free weekly in-person workshops run every Friday 10.30am - 1pm in central Manchester and are designed to help you explore how to channel and showcase your lived experience through various creative avenues.
