International Volunteer Managers Day: Manchester Museum

International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) was founded and observed for the first time in 1999. It is celebrated every year on November the 5th. This year, it is in its 20th year, and is under the theme “Change the Tune!” to reflect the frustrations experienced in the sector and giving a chance for us to differently about how volunteer leadership is positioned – in the hope that we can change the dialogue. UP are recruiting Directors for its Board

UP.UP grew out of WHAG, a charity that began life as Women’s Housing Aid Group in 1981.

Together, WHAG and UP think that prevention is better than cure. One in four women and one in six men will be victims of domestic abuse. In every reception class, at least one child will have been living with domestic abuse since they were born.

In April 2019 Bolton CVS launched the Giving Back in Bolton Project which aims to make it easier for people with a criminal record get into volunteering. By completing this survey, you will be helping Bolton CVS to pull together best practice guidance for the voluntary sector of Bolton and beyond. This will help them to improve the recruitment, management and support of volunteers with criminal records, and so help people come back into the community.
