Power to Changes New Economy Programme

Power to Change is partnering with Stir to Action to offer 80 free training places on the 2021/2022 New Economy Programme, a learning and action platform to support community business. ‍

Power to Change aspires to diversify our reach, particularly with people from communities experiencing inequity. As such, we would like to offer free training places to the following people:

Minoritised ethnic communities

Young adult (aged 18-35)

Greater Manchester Youth Network – Level one Introduction to Youth Work

gmynDelivered by Greater Manchester Youth Network, this free six-session programme offers a Level One AQA accreditation alongside this learning experience therefore participants will need to attend the full programme and complete a small amount of coursework alongside this. This training is open to anyone aged 18+ who works, lives, studies or volunteers in the City of Manchester.

Girls Friendly Society (GFS) Rusholme launch

gfsGirls Friendly Society (GFS) Rusholme launchGFS Rusholme is a new group for girls that aims to help them grow in confidence, resilience and wellbeing, all by having fun and making friends.

The group will meet every Thursday at the Birch Community Centre and build a community where girls can be inspired, try new things and feel proud of who they are.

snap your townInnit 4 Young People CIO, a young people’s charity based in Manchester, are running an online nationwide competition and educational workshop called SnapYourTown. The winner receive a Nikon D3500 DSLR camera worth £500.00, as well as the chance to photograph the production of ‘Innit’ at The Lowry in 2023.
 

The Salam Project workshops

salam projectThe Salam Project is a youth outreach and intervention Social Enterprise working predominantly in the London and Manchester area. The team is DBS checked, and are trained in safeguarding, youth work and mentoring. The Salam Project have been working with young people in various capacities for over 15 years facilitating workshops, mentoring, counselling, tutoring (online/in-person) and outreach work.

sporting equalsSporting Equals programme will empower young people (aged 18-25) from ethnically diverse communities to increase their leadership and employability prospects in the sport sector.

You will need to commit to four structured online sessions taking place in 2021/22.

The project will allow you to build your skills and confidence to know more about the corporate and the sports sector.

RECLAIM working with UpRising and One Million Mentors present: Stand Out

opportunityIf you're unsure about your next step, Stand Out is a free one-month online development programme with a year of professional one-to-one mentoring to help you build your network, develop your skills and discover your future career path. It's delivered by two great youth organisations called UpRising and One Million Mentors in partnership with RECLAIM.

BeeWell Day

beewellBeeWell is a new initiative in Greater Manchester that aims to make the wellbeing of young people everybody’s business. Co-created with young people, the BeeWell wellbeing survey will be rolled out across secondary schools from Autumn 2021 and repeated over the next three years. Beewell will support schools to embed long-term improvements in wellbeing and mobilise a coalition of actors to drive positive change in our communities.

prince's trustPrince’s Trust Team programme is for young people aged between 16 and 25 and not in education or employment.

The programme aims to boost your confidence, help you meet new friends and gain new skills which will help you progress onto further study or straight into an exciting career of your choice.

Breaking Boundaries Project – Manchester

breaking boundariesBreaking Boundaries aims to socially connect young people, their families, and communities together through regular cricket themed engagement, fostering mutual respect and friendships by playing, spectating and volunteering. It is delivered in 5 cities: Bradford, Birmingham, London (Barking and Dagenham), Manchester and Slough.
