| Speed Of Sight | Speed Of Sight is a UK-based charity that provides life-changing driving experiences for people of all ages and abilities, including those with physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities. Founded by blind race car driver Mike Newman and co-founder John Galloway, the charity operates specially… | Cash donations to Speed Of Sight make a significant difference across many areas of our work. Fundamentally, they enable us to provide fully or largely funded places for people with disabilities to take part in our life-changing driving experiences. Donations also help cover the costs of transporting the charity and our specially adapted vehicles nationwide, maintaining and servicing our dual-controlled cars to ensure safety, and supporting the logistics needed for long-distance events. Additionally, cash contributions help us support our dedicated volunteers, ensuring we can continue delivering safe, inspiring, and accessible driving experiences to those who benefit most. |
Non-cash donations are greatly appreciated by Speed Of Sight and can take many forms that support the everyday running of our charity. Due to the nature of our driving experiences, we particularly value skilled volunteers, such as mechanics who can help service our vehicles, as well as donations of vehicle parts, tyres, or other equipment. We are also grateful for goods in kind, such as a specially manufactured dual-controlled car previously donated by a kit car manufacturer. In addition, non-cash support can include help with day-to-day administration, fundraising activities, or providing items that can be used as raffle or auction prizes at our events. Essentially, any contribution of skills, time, or resources that helps us deliver our driving experiences and achieve our mission is warmly welcomed. In particular, we are currently looking for a trailer to help transport our cars to and from events and are actively seeking assistance in finding new accommodation for our charity, along with storage space for our vehicles. |
