The Open Doors Project (free room booking)   

The Open Doors Project is a pilot scheme established by the Office for Social Responsibility in collaboration with Manchester Museum and Alliance Manchester Business School. The scheme allows community members to book meeting rooms totally free-of-charge on the Oxford Road campus. These room bookings are open to voluntary and charity organisations, CICs and social enterprises, community groups, and residents’ associations.

Our Manchester Strategy 2025-35 launched

To develop the new Our Manchester strategy, Manchester City Council listened to over 10,000 voices across Manchester to shape a future we can all be proud of.

Over the next 10 years, they will be focusing on the 12 key priorities residents said mattered most – Our People, Our Neighbourhoods, Our City.

Pathways 2 Success - Young people's support program for children and young people of colour up to 17

Homeless House are pleased to announce that they have free spaces on their Young People's Support Program "Pathways 2 Success" for young people of colour in Manchester. 

The program is designed to provide comprehensive 1-2-1 tailored support (educational and employment), in addition to life skills training for children and young people up to 17. The next course is set to commence w/c June 2nd.

NHS Greater Manchester As Soon As You’re Pregnant campaign

In 2022 NHS Greater Manchester launched the As Soon As You’re Pregnant (ASAP) campaign.

Co–designed with midwifery services in Greater Manchester, the main aim was to encourage pregnant people to book in with a midwife as soon as they are pregnant, ideally before 10 weeks. This was primarily to ensure screening tests for sickle cell and thalassaemia could be carried out before 10 weeks to ensure there is adequate time for further testing if needed and to make decisions about any ongoing care that may be needed.

Project 17 – Section 17 Suitability: Ensuring Appropriate Support

This session is part of Project 17's new training series in collaboration with United Impact.

This session, will focus on ensuring families receive the appropriate Section 17 support. The session will explore how to identify when support is inadequate and examine the negative impact this can have on families. The session will also cover effective strategies for supporting families in securing more suitable solutions, including the use of advocacy, judicial review, and formal complaints to improve their situations.
