National Clinical Audit - Carer views on the quality of hospital care

This questionnaire is part of a National Clinical Audit which aims to improve the quality of care that hospitals provide to people who have confusion or memory problems.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists would like this questionnaire to be completed by family carers or key worker carers who visited the person with memory problems during their admission to a general hospital.

The GSK IMPACT Awards 2016

The awards are designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health. The awards are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income of between £25,000 and £2 million.

They are funded by GlaxoSmithKline and managed in partnership with The King’s Fund.

Building Capabilities funded opportunity with Home-Start Manchester South

Home-Start is a well-known and highly respected national charity providing early help and support from trained volunteers to young families, through 300 locally managed projects in the UK. Each project is self-supporting financially and most are funded from a variety of sources including charitable trusts, statutory funding, donations and sponsorships. The Big Lottery is one of the significant funders of a large number of Home-Start projects.

What factors affect healthy living in Greater Manchester? Taking Charge Together research

Over 10,000 people took part in Taking Charge Together, the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership survey, which provided an insight into why people feel they cannot lead a healthier lifestyle. Most people surveyed were aware of the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise but the survey asked why this might be difficult to achieve.

Our Manchester: VCS Funding Workshops

Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee merger news

Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) have announced that as of the 1 October 2016 they will be merging with LPC’s across Greater Manchester to form one Greater Manchester wide LPC.

This Greater Manchester LPC (name to be agreed) will include the following localities:
• Manchester
• Ashton, Leigh and Wigan
• Tameside, Oldham and Glossop
• Stockport
• Salford and Trafford
• Bury and Rochdale
