We have extended the deadline to complete our State of the Sector survey to 18 December 2016.
We would like to encourage your organisation to complete our important survey as we want to know how the government cuts and economic recession have affected our sector. We need to know how many groups have lost funding, how many have had to reduce services and how many have had to close or are facing closure. But also how we continue to work together providing valuable services and support to the people of Manchester.
The work we do as a sector directly affects the lives of people in Manchester, so it is very important that we know what is happening.
How the survey will be used - we will publish our findings in March 2017 and we will be using the evidence gathered to:
• Ensure the City Council, NHS and Clinical Commissioning Groups, the Police and local businesses are aware of the role of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester
• Influence policy and decision making
• Influence commissioning and funding plans
• Ensure that decision and policy makers locally and nationally are aware of the impact of recent cuts and public sector reform has had on local groups
• Help plan the services and activities Macc and our partners provide to assist local groups
This is your opportunity to let us know how you have been affected and be part of the evidence to raise awareness of our sector’s importance and to influence decision makers. Don’t miss this opportunity.
Your responses will remain completely confidential and anonymous. Personal information will not be shared with any other party.
Free prize draw
If that wasn’t enough to entice you to complete our survey if your group has a turnover of less than £100k a year, you will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win £250 cash or two runners up prizes of a free place on any of our training courses.
Focus groups
As part of this survey we are also holding focus groups which are aimed at providing an in-depth understanding of the experience of those involved in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester. Here we are interested in gathering opinions / experiences on volunteering in the sector and relationships both within and beyond the sector.
Can you spare an hour of your time to take part in a focus group on:
Small groups (income under £100k) - Friday 9 December, 12noon at a venue in North Manchester
As no good deed goes unrewarded we’ll provide you with a lovely lunch and a free place for your organisation on one of our training courses!
