This major new research report shows the social and economic impact of voluntary organisations, community groups, social enterprises and the community work of faith groups in the city of Manchester.
You may remember last year we asked for you to complete a survey to get involved and let us know the activities that you undertake; the areas you work in; the communities you work with the general income and expenditure, volunteers and any paid staff; experiences of working with the public sector and the help, advice and support available to you.
“Like other major cities, Manchester is facing the combined effects of recession, public sector spending cuts and long standing deprivation in local communities. Pressures are increasing on us all to do more with less. This new evidence is a powerful statement of what local organisations can do. It will helps us demonstrate to commissioners, decision makers and funders the incredible scale of effort by thousands of individuals in voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations to support people through these difficult times.” Mike Wild, Chief Executive, Macc
We will be holding a Manchester launch of the report as part our next Voluntary Sector Assembly where Mike Wild, Chief Executive will present a briefing of the findings.
