A Day In The Life is a work-shadowing initiative that provides a unique opportunity for staff from government and voluntary sector organisations to step into each other's shoes for a day, and learn about how the other sector operates. 
Since March, the Age-Friendly Manchester team has been reviewing and refreshing Manchester's Ageing Strategy. Manchester: A Great Place to Grow Older 2017-2021 is the result of an extensive period of consultation with services, colleagues, partners and older people themselves. 
As in previous years, the need to find families for some of our most vulnerable children remains at the heart of this year’s National Adoption Week. This year focuses on the need to find the right adopters for sibling groups. 
Nationally 61% of children waiting for Adoption are in sibling groups and right here in the Northwest it’s higher still at 64%.

In the latest GMPA newsletter GMPA comment on the Mayor’s school readiness plan; GMPA launch their second map – this time featuring household items and repairs; there is an article on how fuel poverty in the region can be tackled, information about a community reporting project and their regular Living Wage column. 
Back in January Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) launched the Emergency Food Providers map, a Google map showing the location of all the foodbanks, pay-as-you-feel cafés, food clubs and pantries that they could find.
GMPA added more pins and made any necessary amendments over the past 9 months. Since its launch this map has had over 6,400 visits and hope that it will continue to be a really useful resource.
This brochure was developed to demonstrate the range and impact of people powered health projects across the whole of Greater Manchester. 
The stories illustrate a range of approaches that build on the tenets of people powered approaches, but have been developed independently across the 10 boroughs of GM over recent years. They show examples of how local people are addressing local challenges in positive and creative ways.
Catalyst is a dynamic and exciting programme offering free training to young people of diverse faiths and backgrounds who are between 16 to 26 year of age. The programme equips young people with the skills and confidence to take on leadership roles, develop local social action and transform their own communities. 
The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid) is a Manchester based charity active for over 40 years in the City. As their name suggests they host a small museum dedicated to the Pankhurst Family and the Women’s Social and Political Union - better known as the Suffragette Movement. They also provide refuge and community support services for survivors of domestic violence and abuse.
