HOME BFI Film Academy

HOME are looking for 15 of the region’s most promising young filmmakers and film fans aged 16-19 to take part in their BFI Film Academy 2015. This intensive 2 month project will cover everything from practical filmmaking to film theory, programming, distribution and certification.

Participants will learn from industry professionals and will be given opportunities to attend special events at HOME throughout the project. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to develop your TV or filmmaking career.

Southern Voices World War One project wins Heritage Lottery Fund support

Southern Voices (Manchester) has received £60,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting project, ‘Out of the Shadows: 1914-18 Perspectives of Colonised People’ based in Manchester.

The project will explore the role and experiences of the colonised peoples of the British West Indies, Nigeria, India, German and British East Africa during the First World War.

Could Greater Manchester win VisitEngland’s search for the country’s most popular sports destination?

The race is on to find England’s greatest sporting destination. VisitEngland, is on a quest to find the country’s top sporting destination, and has asked the public to send in their own nominations.

By submitting an image of their “home of sport” – be it Old Trafford or a hidden gem village green - sports fans across the country will help decide the jewel in England’s sporting crown.
