Core Safeguarding Procedures
The Manchester Safeguarding Children’s Board (MSCB) and Executive have taken the decision to adopt the Greater Manchester Safeguarding Partnership (GMSP) online safeguarding procedures; these will replace the MSCB Core Safeguarding Procedures which were last updated in 2010.

I’ve just come back from being on the BBC Breakfast sofa talking about volunteering. As is always the case with these things, it’s all very rushed and last minute and it’s over in a flash. Actually that’s one of good things in a sense because it gives you less time to panic! It was a great opportunity to fly the flag for volunteering in the middle of Volunteers Week and to talk about the sheer wealth of volunteering which happens in Manchester, as one exampleof the amazing work of volunteers across the whole country.

Skipton Building Society Grassroots Giving 2014

For 2014, Skipton Building Society has allocated 161 donations of £500 to help fund development for grassroots organisations.

The idea behind the Grassroots Giving campaign is to help community organisations, or groups, who only have access to limited funding from elsewhere. If you are a small group that is working to help those in your local neighbourhood this is for you.

Refugee Community Organisations Funding Workshop Project

Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) are offering seven Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs) support through a series of four workshops aimed at improving their capacity to assess and apply for funding. The workshops will be practical and participatory, and require the commitment of the participants to preparation research and consultation.
