The Heritage Lottery Fund is making changes this year in preparation for its new Strategic Funding Framework, due to come in in 2019. The HLF have designated 2018 as a 'transition year', with several changes:
• There will be no new rounds of targeted programmes (i.e. Landscape Partnerships, Parks for People or Townscape Heritage) in 2018
The North, Central and South Safeguarding Children Fora are the connection between the strategic work of the Manchester Safeguarding Children’s Board (MSCB) and front-line practitioners from all agencies. Their main purpose is to ensure that there is a direct link between practice issues at a local level and the overall direction of the Board.
The Manchester Safeguarding Boards (MSB) comprises the Manchester Safeguarding Adults Board (MSAB) and the Manchester Safeguarding Children Boards (MSCB). The Boards share an Independent Chair, Julia Stephens-Row; and are supported by the MSB Business Unit. The bulletin includes news, events, training opportunities and links to information and resources which we hope will be of use to the multi-agency safeguarding workforce and the wider community across Manchester.
Highlight your charity’s impact to win an award and prize package
Small charities and community groups around the country carry out vital work but in many cases people are not aware of their impact.
Through the FSI Small Charity Big Impact Awards, small charities and community groups can highlight the work and the impact they make on a local, national and international level.
Pro Bono Economics charity projects help organisations to measure performance, improve their services and better track outcomes. PBE will be focusing its work on areas where improved well-being is a central purpose:
Education – Including early intervention programmes, adult learning and alternative educational methods
Employment – Including programmes aimed at ex-offenders and vocational training for hard-to-reach young people
Manchester City Council has a quantity of surplus office furniture available for distribution to not-for-profit organisations in the city.
Information for the bulletin is compiled from a number of sources including Grantfinder, GMCVO (Greater Manchester Council for Voluntary Organisations) and direct from funders themselves. It showcases just a few of the hundreds of funding opportunities available for local community, voluntary and faith organisations.
This bulletin is produced by a partnership of local support and development agencies across Greater Manchester.
The Charity Commission has put together a concise guide focusing on key duties and responsibilities that trustees need to be aware of from the outset. They are now looking for trustees to help them test the design and use any feedback to improve it. If you have become a trustee in the last year – or have a hand in appointing and helping new trustees – the Commission plans to hold events in London over the coming months and will also be putting in place a facility to enable remote testing.
