This 6 week course running on Thursday mornings from 9.30 - 11.30am from 14 September to 19 October, will help you eat well on a budget and exercise without cost.

People Powered Health - New 10GM Publication

People Powered Health is the latest publication by 10GM and was developed to demonstrate the range and impact of people powered health projects across the whole of Greater Manchester. The stories illustrate a range of approaches that build on the tenets of people powered approaches, but have been developed independently across the 10 boroughs of GM over recent years. They show examples of how local people are addressing local challenges in positive and creative ways.

VCSE Advisory Group has £5,000 to allocate to a single project that aims to reduce a health inequality/ies faced by members of particular community within their cancer journey.

The VCSE Advisory Group know many communities within Greater Manchester experience many additional barriers to services; from awareness of signs and symptoms, early diagnosis, through treatment, living with and beyond cancer and dying well.

As momentum gathers around integrated health and social care and children’s health and wellbeing, there are various calls for evidence around the voice of children and young people.

42nd Street with Youth Focus NW and Young Minds are aware of an awful lot of great work that has taken place over recent years to capture this voice and they are trying to gather this into one place and make some central sense of it to inform, amongst other things the GM commissioning framework for CAMHS and a broader charter around children and young people’s health and social care.

State of Caring 2017 Report - One in four unpaid carers “have not had a day off” in five years

This latest Carers UK report has found that carers are reaching ‘breaking point’ as they struggle to take even a day away from care responsibilities for years at a time. One in ten (40%) of unpaid carers have not had a break in over one year, whilst one in four (25%) had not received a single day away from caring in five years.
