Older People

Safeguarding Adults Week 17 – 21 November 2025

Safeguarding Adults Week is a national event where organisations have an opportunity to come together to raise awareness about keeping adults safe from harm, abuse and neglect.

This year’s focus is on prevention taking action early to stop abuse before it happens. While it’s important to respond when things go wrong, it’s even more powerful to create safer environments from the start.

Throughout the week, Manchester Safeguarding Partnership will be holding an Adult Safeguarding Conference focusing on the importance of prevention.

Manchester Safeguarding Partnership – Launch All Age Neglect Toolkit

Neglect is a key priority of the Safeguarding Partnership. It is the most common form of child abuse and can have serious and long-lasting effects on development, wellbeing and safety. In adult safeguarding, both neglect by others and self-neglect are forms of abuse recognised under the Care Act 2014.

Manchester Safeguarding Partnership have designed the All Age Neglect Toolkit to help practitioners in Manchester feel confident in identifying, responding and acting on concerns of both neglect and self-neglect.
