Henshaws in Greater Manchester enables people of all ages living with sight loss to make informed choices about their future. The team have been sharing their expertise in their Visual Impairment 
Awareness Training (VIAT) course, open to anyone who wants to know more about life with a visual impairment.
Scope, the disability equality charity, are launching a new service in Greater Manchester, Individual Pathway of Support.
Scope’s Research Panel is a group of disabled people (and parents and carers of disabled children) who take part in research projects with Scope. Scope are looking for new people to sign up.
It’s a great way for disabled people to use their lived experiences and have their say, and get vouchers as a thank you for their time and effort.

Between now and 31 August, every donation towards Henshaws work with Children and Young People, will be matched funded, by a local businessman. This means a donation of £25 would be worth £50, or a donation of £1,000 would be worth £2,000. If you are able to fundraise or make any donation during this period, it would make an incredible difference to a young person living with a visual impairment.
This is a new course from Breakthrough UK to support disabled people to become digitally included, which begins on 1 July in Wythenshawe. Those who complete the 8 week course will receive a free Chromebook.
The course is for Manchester residents, aged 18 or over who identify as disabled and are digitally excluded.

Applications are now open for individuals to join the new Manchester Disabled People’s Engagement Panel. Members of the panel will use their lived experience of disability to ensure that Manchester’s services and businesses do not create unexpected barriers to disabled people. It aims to be a ‘go-to’ group where key organisations from across public services and businesses in the city will come to get advice on being more inclusive.
The Greater Manchester Disabled People’s Panel (GMDPP) is made up of Disabled People’s Organisations (DPO- that is organisations majority run and staffed by disabled people) across Greater Manchester. It operates at the highest strategic level with the GM Mayor Andy Burnham and GM Combined Authority to advise, consult, influence, and create policy with the aim to improve the lives of disabled people throughout GM.
The following few months are going to see Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP) entering a new development stage and they would like to extend the opportunity for members to become involved also. Project worker Gemma would like to run a series of workshops that will offer a unique opportunity to shape the way GMCDP continues it practices.
Level Best is a free programme of workshops and coaching for people with lived experience of racism and/or who are disabled.
