Four weeks to go and the Spirit of Manchester Festival is building up nicely.
Below is a Google Map of all the venues and events in the Spirit of Manchester Festival. It's my hope that over the next few weeks, we'll see more and more markers on this map. Wouldn't it be great if we could cover the city? If you're a local voluntary sector group and you've not yet got involved, there's still time. Just go to our festival webpage www.spiritofmanchesterfestival.uk and tell us what you're planning to do!
Remember, this is a great way to raise the profile of your group, the things you do and believe in, to have some fun and even raise a bit of money too. The more groups who get involved the more of a buzz we create around the city!
We're already seeing some great examples -
- Fareshare are inviting everyone to afternoon tea
- Booth Centre are having an Arts Day
- Castlefield Gallery are inviting people in for tea and cake and talking about their new exhibition.
Macc of course is holding the Spirit of Manchester Awards event during the week but we're also doing our own Festival event which is carefully and subtly titled to attract people's interest "Free Music and Cake!". Over lunchtime on Monday 22nd, the team here will be variously bringing in homemade cake and entertaining you with a little live music. (Me? I'm involved in the music. When it comes to cake I am an ardent consumer!).
From conversations with colleagues across the city, I know there are others being planned and as soon as the details are confirmed, they'll go on the map.
