Tampon Tax Fund 2019-2020 funding round – apply by 20 January 2019

The Tampon Tax Fund allocates funds generated from the VAT on sanitary products to projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls. Gov.uk

This funding round is inviting charitable, benevolent and philanthropic organisations from across the United Kingdom to bid into one of four categories: violence against women and girls, female homelessness and rough sleeping, women in music, and a general programme.

Pocket Parks Plus: supporting parks and public spaces where people can relax, exercise, socialise and play Grants Programme

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is providing a £1 million fund to support the development of new pocket parks and to refurbish existing parks that have fallen into disrepair where their restoration could have a significant positive impact on the local community and address a specific local need. The Government is inviting applications from community groups interested establishing a new pocket park or refurbishing an existing park.

Ex-smokers needed for a Making Smoking History campaign

Work has now started to develop a new Greater Manchester-wide quit smoking campaign, which will be launching in March next year.

The campaign, from Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, will have the ‘real voices’ of Greater Manchester people front and centre and their creative agency are now looking for ex-smokers and their families who would be prepared to share their stories as part of the campaign.

My two colleagues and I have just come from dropping off donations at  Emmeline’s Pantry. Here at Macc we decided that one of the ways we could practice what we preach is by supporting a local Christmas Appeal, we asked for suggestions and picked at random. Emmeline’s Pantry was the name that came out of the hat.
