Experiences of cancer screening services - seeking views

The NHS would like to know more about your thoughts of your cancer screening experience(s) within Greater Manchester and whether cancer screening is or is not a good opportunity to talk to people about healthy lifestyles and promote other cancer screening opportunities. A series of group discussions is taking place around Greater Manchester on behalf of Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership.

Statement from the Faith Network for Manchester on the Mosque Arson attack on Sunday night, 16 July 2017

“The executive and members of the Faith Network for Manchester (FN4M) express our horror at yet another Islamophobic attack. Yet another arson attack has been perpetrated against the Nasfat Mosque, which has gutted the building this time. This is an unacceptable act and we are united with people of all faiths and none in deploring all hate crimes. We stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters, especially with those members and congregants of the Nasfat Manchester Islamic Centre.

GE2017: 3 things your organisation can do

So, here we are again.

Among the many questions raised by last year's EU Referendum, is whether charities and voluntary organisations and social enterprises were too quiet in the debate. I'd say this was definitely the case.

Rewriting the DNA of Health and Care (Episode IV: A New Hope?)

You know that game where you have to pick the people, living or dead, you’d most like to have round a dinner table? Being a bit of an ideas geek, I have a similar thing about who I’d like to hear speak at my dream conference. I’m lucky that I occasionally get to hear some brilliant speakers from the world of charities and social enterprises.

Complete our important State of the Sector Survey

We have extended the deadline to complete our State of the Sector survey to 18 December 2016.

We would like to encourage your organisation to complete our important survey as we want to know how the government cuts and economic recession have affected our sector. We need to know how many groups have lost funding, how many have had to reduce services and how many have had to close or are facing closure. But also how we continue to work together providing valuable services and support to the people of Manchester.

Grant applications open for Hate Crime Awareness Week 2017

Manchester is an eclectic and welcoming city and for many years which has been tackling the causes of inequality and demonstrating the benefits of diverse and cohesive communities. Manchester City Council recognises that community cohesion does not happen by itself – it is driven by people making an effort to support one another in their communities and neighbourhoods. They want to build on this by holding events and activities throughout their annual Hate Crime Awareness Week 2017. You can help do this by holding an event or activity in your neighbourhood.
