Cheetham Hill Advice Centre have a group of 10 walkers taking part in the 10k Manchester Legal Walk on Thursday 28 September 2017 to raise funds for CHAC and North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST).
Our first Volunteers’ Week Spirit Story comes from Molly – a volunteer with NAPAC who supports the organisation as a Telephone Support Line Call Handler.
NAPAC helps adults that have been abused in childhood; their main area of work is to offer a Telephone Support line that provides support to adult survivors of child abuse. NAPAC also provides support via e-mail and they pride themselves on answering every call or e-mail they receive individually.
Home-Start in Manchester is currently exploring alternative office space in a central location. Their requirements are as follows:
• Private space to accommodate at least 14 staff at any one time
• Ideally some small separate meeting space/training space
• Free parking
• Easily accessible e.g. not city centre but centrally located e.g. Ancoats, Ardwick, Hulme, New Islington, Collyhurst
• Reasonable leasing rates
• Non furnished is fine
• Kitchen and washroom facilities

I’ve never written a blog before so this is a first.
So, here we are again.
Among the many questions raised by last year's EU Referendum, is whether charities and voluntary organisations and social enterprises were too quiet in the debate. I'd say this was definitely the case.
It's 29th March 2017. So in an attempt to be positive about what the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector can do as Brexit officially starts, here's a short video blog we made.
