One of the things I love most about working in the voluntary sector is that if you have a really good idea you can generally find a way to make it happen. It might take a while – things like our State of the Sector and Civil Economy work were on my wishlist for years before we were finally able to publish the finished work. But sometimes you can be taken by surprise at how fast you can go from the idea to it actually happening.

Money Advice Trust - Innovation Grants Programme 2014

The new grants programme from the Money Advice Trust is offering small grants to support agencies that provide money and debt advice to individuals and businesses, which will help them to help more people, more effectively.

Grants of up to £30,000 per year for up to three years are available to charitable organisations in the UK.

Heart Research UK Healthy Heart Grants – next deadline 31 Aug 14

Heart Research UK Healthy Heart Grants of up to £5,000 and up to £10,000 are available for new, original and innovative projects that actively promote Heart Health and help to prevent, or reduce, the risk of heart disease in specific groups or communities.

The Healthy Heart Grant is only available for community or voluntary organisations, registered charities or other not for profit organisations for projects that actively promote heart health or reduce the risk of heart disease.

Swinton Insurance Project Summer - Win £5000 for your local community project plus £250 for you

Clean-up your community with a £200 grant

Manchester City Council are offering grants of up to £200 to help clean-up areas across Manchester.

Grants are available to help you to run regular clean-ups and, or greening events in the area in which you live. Please note grants will only be awarded for clean-up projects taking place within the Manchester boundaries.

Discuss with your neighbours or group what event or activity you would like to do, and get quotes or costings for anything you might need.

Grants can be for tools, equipment, materials and any other reasonable costs for carrying out a clean-up project.

2015 GSK IMPACT Awards

The GSK IMPACT Awards are designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health. They are funded by GlaxoSmithKline and managed in partnership with The King’s Fund.

The awards are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income between £25,000 and £2 million.

Big Energy Saving Network - Grant Offer Fund

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2014/15 Big Energy Saving Network, a £1 million programme of training, support and grant funding for eligible third sector organisations and community groups to deliver an extensive programme of outreach to vulnerable consumers, focussed on helping them reduce their energy costs through assisted action on tariffs, switching and the take up of energy efficiency offers.
