The Windrush Day Grant Scheme will support groups to celebrate and commemorate the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush Generation in communities across our country. It will also seek to educate about this contribution and the history of the MV Empire Windrush. This programme will support people from many different ages and backgrounds to embrace our shared history.
Did you know that when WW1 began, there were churches in the British West Indies with racially segregated seating; or that the vast majority of their populations were non-Whites – Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people - excluded to the edges of society; kept in extreme poverty without the right to vote? And did you know by the end of WW1 a new Black pride and civil rights struggle had ignited the British Caribbean?
Exploring the mental health support needs of single black women living in Manchester.
Weekly session (during school time) for 3 months starting November 2019.

As part of their work on the Our Manchester Voluntary and Community Sector grant programme, The Programme Team, want to develop their approaches, relationships and work with Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) voluntary and community organisations and leaders across the city.
The Programme Team will be doing some focussed engagement over the coming months, running sessions and/or visiting organisations, groups and individuals to build on the conversations and generate ideas that they aim to take forward with your support.
As you may be aware, earlier this year Manchester City Council and Manchester Health and Care Commissioning launched a competitive tendering process for the contract to provide support to the city's voluntary and community sector for the next three years. We are delighted to announce that Macc has been awarded this contract.
