Trading for Good – New funded programme for social enterprises and community businesses

Gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to develop and grow projects that tackle social and environmental challenges through strong trading income streams. Trading for Good is a new programme by the School for Social Entrepreneurs that provides funding, education and support for social entrepreneurs and community businesses across England. The programme includes a Match Trading Grant, learning and development programme and your own ready-made network.

Announcement: Macc has successfully secured Manchester City Council’s contract to provide infrastructure support to the city's voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector

Macc is delighted to announce that, following an open tender process, we have once again been successful in securing the contract with Manchester City Council to deliver infrastructure support to the city's voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. This work enables us to support charities, community groups (including the community work done by faith organisations), voluntary groups, and social enterprises to be healthy, sustainable, well-run and above all, impactful for our communities.

Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund Round Five

The Greater Manchester Environment Fund (GMEF) is accepting applications from charities and other not-for-profit organisations across Greater Manchester for Round Five of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund.

Grants of between £2,000 and £40,000 are available for local organisations to create or improve green spaces, including but not limited to:

Islamic Relief UK

Islamic Relief UK is offering grants of between £1,000 and £40,000 for voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector organisations across the UK to deliver projects that support marginalised and vulnerable people and their communities.

In 2024, a total of £2.5 million is available for projects and activities that align with the following aims:

Rosa’s Stand With Us Fund

The Stand With Us Fund was set up to address the critical lack of investment in frontline organisations supporting women and girls who experience male violence.  

Originally started with money raised by Reclaim These Streets in the wake of the appalling kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard by a serving Metropolitan Police Officer, the fund exists to make the UK safer for all women and girls.

Vegan Society Grants

The Vegan Society, a UK charity which exists to increase awareness of veganism for the benefit of people, animals and the environment, has announced it will accept applications during the month of July 2024.

This year, the Society is offering grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 with an eye to supporting fewer projects but those having a higher impact.

The funding is intended for new and innovative projects which will encourage non-vegans to go vegan and stay vegan.

The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation was established 24 years ago by Skipton Building Society. Since then it has given away more than £3.4 million to good causes across the UK.

Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation aims to improve the wellbeing, welfare and education of children and adults in communities throughout the UK by making donations of up to £6,000 to registered charities.

Inclusion Grants to support Deaf and Disabled people – Expressions of Interest now open

An upcoming grants programme is aiming to change the narrative around disability across Greater Manchester.

GMCVO will be seeking applications from voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, working in Greater Manchester, for the benefit of Greater Manchester residents, to encourage a change in the narrative around disability by improving accessibility and inclusion for Deaf and disabled people.
