"Care & Repair England aims to improve housing & related services so that older people can live independently in their own homes for as long as they choose.
We seek to improve related policy and practice."
Healthy Me Healthy Communities are running a Community Organiser course for four weeks from Monday 23rd April (you will need to attend all four sessions).
This course will give you a flavour of the key elements of community organising. It will include:
Manchester City Council is leading the city’s arrangements to mark the anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack on Tuesday 22 May 2018.
Those affected by those terrible events will want to mark the date in different ways, so the programme is varied and takes different forms, to make sure that people can feel connected to it.

ICYMI: A little bit about the Active Communities Team at Macc:
"Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was “Oh no, not again”.
Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now."
Do you want to meet people (like you), that volunteer, or give their own time in our great city?
Manchester Volunteer Meet Ups are facilitated by Volunteer Centre Manchester (which is managed by Macc), and provide a chance for people in the City of Manchester who are volunteering - or seeking to volunteer, to come together; learn about relevant volunteering opportunities, network, share experiences and get support.
...there's tea and cake too!
The idea is to create a welcoming space for anyone to take a seat, enjoy a freshly cooked meal, meet members of their community and find out what’s going on in the area. The Community Diner is taking place at Northmoor Community Centre, 95-97 Northmoor Road, Longsight, Manchester, M12 5RT, Wednesday s 12pm-2pm (takeawyas from 1pm).
The NHS would like to know more about your thoughts of your cancer screening experience(s) within Greater Manchester and whether cancer screening is or is not a good opportunity to talk to people about healthy lifestyles and promote other cancer screening opportunities. A series of group discussions is taking place around Greater Manchester on behalf of Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership.
Thursday 21 September saw the Whitemoss Club for Young People and ten Co-op volunteers organise a tea party for local people.
The Co-op supplied the food and some raffle prizes, and it gave everyone the chance to come together and make new friends. The term reducing social isolation is often used but the friendships made at the party could have a significant positive effect on this. The Co-op ’s involvement is a great example of how building relationships between the voluntary and private sectors can positively impact a community.
