Manchester University MBA students are conducting fascinating research into the impact on raising awareness of male sexual violence. They are working to refine messaging around male sexual violence, improve response delivery, and uncover trends in client engagement data that is often hidden. Currently they are focusing on understanding public awareness of sexual harm affecting men in Greater Manchester and the familiarity with the support offered by We Are Survivors.
To do this, they’ve created a simple, voluntary survey that collects no personal information.

On International Men’s Day 2024 (Tuesday 19 November), Greater Manchester becomes the first city-region in the UK to launch a dedicated plan for tackling gender-based violence against men and boys.
Plan sets out how Greater Manchester will tackle domestic abuse and sexual assault and harassment towards men and boys, raise awareness of support services and reporting mechanisms, and expand training for professionals.
Join the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) at the Mechanics Institute for an insightful event focused on tackling illegal money lending in Greater Manchester. This session aimed at Frontline Workers will focus on the dangers of Loan Sharks, how to identify their victims and how to protect the communities you work with from falling victim to their schemes. This in-person event will feature expert speakers and interactive workshops to help you understand the impact of illegal money lending and how to prevent it.
