The Prince's Trust Team programme delivered by The Manchester College and based at its Wythenshawe campus is currently recruiting for the next programme which starts on 25 May 2015.

The Team programme is a 12 week personal development opportunity aimed at enabling young people between 16-25 to develop the confidence to get back into employment or education.

As a result of the recent consultation and budget set by Manchester City Council on 6 March 2015, the Local Authority Youth and Play Funds will remain at £1.588m in 2015/16. The purpose of the Youth and Play Small Grant Programme is to utilise the contingency funding that remains from extending the majority of existing Youth and Play Fund contracts to improve outcomes for children and young people. It is envisaged that this be done through the delivery of play and youth services / activities from the Voluntary and Community Sector in Manchester.

Manchester City Council have  published their Market Position Statement for Care and Support 2015/16 and anyone with an interest in the future of care and support in Manchester should read it. Manchester's aim is "to forge a new relationship with its partners to benefit all who need care". The Market Position Statement describes the commissioning approach, the context for commissioning and some of the key issues that Manchester needs to address.

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government- backed programme that helps young people build skills for work, life and the transition to adulthood. It is an intense programme for 16 and 17 year olds and comprises of physical and team challenges and community based social action projects.

NCS are looking for organisations or charities that would be interested in hosting 13 young people (and trained mentor) to work on a project in September that would benefit your group.

Youth on Solid Ground (YSG) Press Club creative writing sessions are being run in partnership with Invisible Inc every Saturday 2:30am-4:30pm at Manley Park Centre, York Avenue, Whalley Range, M16 0AS.

Activities Include: creative writing, group work, discussions, problem solving activities and having fun.

The sessions are free and are for all young girls (ages 11-19).

The sessions are delivered by Qualified Youth Workers, Mentors and Artists.

You can simply turn up, register on the day.

The course is aimed at helping young people recognise their talents and capabilities, and overcome any barriers that could be preventing them from accessing the job market. Although A2O aims to improve the prospects for young people finding sustained employment in a career of their choice, they also recognise suitability to alternative career paths, and self-employment.

The course is open to all 19-25 year olds, who are currently not in education, employment or training. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

O2 Think Big aims to find young people with great ideas and help them turn their ideas into reality. This is done by awarding funding and delivering training and support. Projects have to help the community or tackle a problem with society. Projects that only help one person will not be accepted. Beyond that, applicants can do everything or anything – in fact the more bold and creative the ideas, the better.
