Over 9 months UpRising aims to empower and equip young people to become positive leaders in their communities. Including "behind the scenes" sessions with some of the UK’s most senior leaders.

They are matched with a coach and a mentor who supports them on a one to one basis throughout their time on the programme. UpRisers design and deliver a social action campaign on a local issue they're passionate about. The programme is cost-free to the participant and most sessions take place early evening to suit commitments.

Whether you fancy yourself as a BMX pro, or just want to kick a ball about with friends, the wide range of activities should keep all age-groups busy – you can even get involved in a Circus Skills workshop!.

Unity Radio 92.8FM is pleased to announce the North West's newest vocational media programme, Unity Creation, supported by the European Social Fund.

Community on Solid Ground are offering mentoring and divisionary activities to meet the needs of young people across Manchester aged 11-25. This is provided by experienced youth and mentoring practitioners.

Young people will explore a range of issues, identify interests, experience divisionary and inspirational activities, maintain a personal portfolio, and be assessed to explore changes in attitude and behaviour.

UK registered charities can apply for capital grant funding for building projects and/or for free professional property advice.

The building project can be anywhere in the UK, and can involve refurbishment, conversion, extension, new build and work to outdoor spaces. The spaces are to be used to provide support for children and/or young people up to 25 years old, who are experiencing social and/or economic disadvantages.

Catch22 and Missing People are working together to launch a major research project exploring the link between gang involvement and running away. They are currently running an online consultation for professionals working with young people in England. They hope to bring together experience of the situation on the ground, and expert opinion on how they can effectively support young people with these issues.

The Peter Cruddas Foundation gives priority to programmes calculated to help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in England and Wales towards pathways into education, training and employment through charitable organisations.

To qualify for funding you must be a charity registered with the charity commission in England and Wales benefitting people living in England and Wales.

Greater Manchester Talent Match is a Big Lottery-funded programme, led by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO), which brings together the private, public and voluntary sectors to support the most disadvantaged young people towards employment.

Key to the success of the programme is the provision of intensive support to young people by ‘Talent Coaches’, who work with 18 to 24 year-olds to design their personal pathway towards employment and broker their journey through local provision.
